The US-based home cleaning solutions and floor care company, Bissell has announced their entry into the Indian market. Trade Bazaar Hometech Ventures have been appointed as the company’s exclusive distributors in India. The range of vacuum cleaners launched have been priced between Rs 1,590 to Rs 30,000.
Yusuf Hakim, the Asia-Pacific head of Bissell International LLC, said “The Indian market presents a huge opportunity for Bissell as a company and is a key focus in our international business.” The company had a test launch in the last five months, he revealed.
According to Mr. Hakim, in the next three years, the company is aiming at becoming the No.2 brand in the country in the vacuum and cleaning appliance sector by coming forth with new innovative products that make cleaning, easy and convenient (currently, in India, Eureka Forbes is the leader in the vacuum cleaning market).
Their products, in India, are exclusively distributed by Trade Bazaar Hometech Ventures. The range is made available via various leading e-commerce platforms, which include names like, Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon.
Manav Tandon, the Managing Partner of Trade Bazaar Hometech Ventures said "With no major innovation or new product development in the floor care segment in India, we feel that Bissell, being world number one with its world class technology and innovative products that are ideal for the Indian consumer, will make a mark in the vacuum and home cleaning category in India."
