BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle brand of the German company BMW, has officially entered the Indian market. Until now, they were operating in India with importers that had stores in Mumbai and New Delhi but now, they have officially began their operations in India. Initially, they will be set up their outlets in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune.
BMW Motorrad is currently in the procedure of setting up the team and dealership network. The operations of BMW Motorrad India are being headed by Shivapada Ray.

We want our existing and prospective customers to forge new paths and make BMW Motorrad a part of their aspirational lifestyle and pursue joy through riding. Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said on the BMW Motorrad's entry to India.
BMW Motorrad has also slightly tweaked its 2017 model lineup globally. The new 2017 range of BMW motorcycles which will be upgraded includes S 1000 RR, S 1000 R and S 1000 XR and the R 1200 GS. It will also contain a new version of the R nineT, named R nineT Scrambler.
The company has also tied up with India’s TVS Motor Co. Ltd for the manufacture of BMW G310 R and BMW G310 GS in Indian and global markets. BMW Motorrad dealerships in India will display motorcycles ranging from the R 1200 series to the S 1000 series and the R nineT series which are available as Completely Built-up Units (CBU). Price range will vary from Rs. 15.4 lakh to Rs. 28.5 lakh.
They already have a large number of followers in the country, which will help them to achieve success in India. However, it will be great to see them compete with Ducati, Harley-Davidson and Triumph luxury bikes in India.
